18 October 2009: Food Fest at Barnstaple Pannier Market
|
|
We had a fantastic day! It was an early start but it was a very successful day. The atmosphere was friendly and the event was well organised by North Devon Plus.
Visitors certainly enjoyed the variety of food available.
It was lovely to chat to people visiting our stand. The homemade cake and hot food was very popular.

19 June 2009: Artists at Marwood
|
|
ArtTrek" comes to Marwood 19th to 28th June 2009
As part of the 2009 North Devon Festival, we are delighted to be hosting three of North Devon's finest up and coming artists this year.
They will be turning your stroll through our garden into a special "Journey of Discovery" with their original artwork secreted away for you to view within the trees and shrubs.
A freshly graduated Ed Crumpton www.edcrumpton.com recently returned from an American drawing journey when he took pencil snapshots every 6 hours, here for you to see; Painter of beautifully rich and glowing landscapes Tim Williams www.timwilliams.eu has work in several stages of completion to illustrate the actual painting process; Large abstract oil painter Creydi John Nevill www.creydinevill.com will open your eyes to how important technical competance, colour choice and draughtsmanship is to his work.
Their most polished pieces will be on show in our Garden Tea Room, and for the whole week at least one of them will even be present themselves for you in a lakeside marquee, so do pay them a visit and have a chat - they are here to explain to you some of the processes behind their work, and do have lots of interesting things for all ages and abilities to see and do.
But be prepared to get hands on! - especially for you, and entirely free; our artists are running regular sketching sessions in which you will have your eyes opened to beauties you may have otherwise just passed by. Don't be shy - they say all ages and abilities can benefit from a little help looking, and they have paper, pencils, some mixed media and a good sense of humour at the ready!
